Sabinsa Corporation announces that Dr. Umar Jan has been named Resident Director of Sabinsa Europe GmbH.
For over four years in his previous position as Prokurist and Technical Sales Manager for Sabinsa Europe, Dr. Jan handled the scientific aspects of sales, describing the company’s robust portfolio of proprietary, research-backed ingredients.
“Dr. Jan’s technical knowledge will be of great benefit in his role overseeing Sabinsa Europe’s ongoing business development,” said Shaheen Majeed, President-worldwide, Sabinsa. “And his understanding of marketing strategies will facilitate exploration of new opportunities for us.”
Dr. Jan received a Doctorate in Biophysical Chemistry from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and an Executive MBA degree from Mannheim Business School, a top business school in Germany. Prior to joining Sabinsa, Dr. Jan spent 10 years working at distinguished international research institutes such as Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and European Molecular Biology Laboratory-Heidelberg. As a Post-doctorate fellow at EMBL, he was selected for the prestigious European fellowship “CO-FUND Marie Curie and EMBO-long term fellow.” Dr. Jan has published several articles in high impact peer-reviewed journals such as Nature, Nature Methods, Nature Communications, EMBO and JBC.
